Mad Men Dress Challenge - The Big REVEAL!

Ladies and gentleman,

I hope you have your fire-alarms turned off because this post is SMOKING!

I am so super impressed with the participants in this challenge that it makes me want to high-five strangers and throw bags of dollar bills off the top floor of a building.

Some of the dresses below are direct copies from characters, some are inspired by characters and some are just inspired by the show Mad Men.

Vintage Pattern Give Away

To help celebrate the awesomeness that is Mad Men and vintage sewing, the wonderful Michelle from Patterns From the Past is giving away to one lucky reader a $25 gift voucher to spend at her online vintage pattern store! Check out her website here at http://oldpatterns.com/ for great vintage inspiration!

One lucky person will be randomly selected as the winner.

Entries are open to everyone from anywhere in the world.

Entries close on April 6, 2012 Australian EST

One random winner will announced in my next blog post on April 8th, 2012.

  35. Man, I had no idea what is Mad Men before I read about this contest. What a madness! :) Well, I've no TV at home and Mad Men is not aired in the country I live in. Under the "pressure of community" I started watching the first episode this week.

How much time and imagination all of you spent creating these amazing outfits! Each and one of them is so great! You, ladies, all look so glamorous and sophisticated! Next time I am so in ;)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Wow! All the dresses are fabulous! Amazing work, ladies. 53. I have anxiously been awaiting this post, and it surely did not disappoint! Love them all.

I only started watching Mad Men this year, but I'm totally up to date thanks to Netflix! And this season's first episode did not disappoint.

I grew up during these Mad Men times. I of course am Sally, and my mom would be Betty. Sadly, some parts of our lives parallel a lot of the events of the Draper marriage. My dad was just as devastatingly handsome as Don, and there was trouble...but all's well today.

  54. I was up early this morning for this post!!!! Lovely dresses ladies!! Love them all! Haven't had time - was inspired by this post so I been sewing all day - to go to each individual blog to read up on the dresses... will have to clear my schedule sometime this week to read everyones blogs!!!

  94. These turned out LOVELY ladies! I'm very jealous! My own Mad Men dress is 98% done--I have to insert the zipper, re-do the sleeves (they look more 80s prom than 1960s chic), and hem the bottom. Would've been done on time if my feed dog gears hadn't pooed out on me.

All of your dresses are beautiful. Great work!
