Milestone Give Away!

Ladies and gentleman, valued readers and sewing enthusiasts!

I sit here with a party hat on, streamers draped colourfully over my shoulders and a corked bottle of champagne in my hands.

I’m in serious celebration mode.

Why, you ask? Cause Julia Bobbin has reached a milestone and cracked her first 100 followers! Yay! I’m ecstatic! And when I get happy, things get intense ...

To celebrate my first milestone I’m having my very first fabric give away, and people – it’s a good one.

Remember my The Survivor dress? With the stunning half a metre of black guipure lace that I salvaged from the dangerous Clegs remnant sale?

WELL! I purchased me another half a metre of this heart-breaking fabric (at full price mind!) to give to one lucky reader as my thank you for following me and my new blog!

Seeing this beautiful lace makes me want to make the dress all over again!

Fabric details:
Half a metre of Black Guipure Lace - the same amount I used for my Survivor dress
95cm wide
100 % polyester
Scalloped edge
Dry clean only
Cool iron on reverse side
Value: $169.95 AUD per metre

Want it?

Simply comment on this post for your chance to win

Entries are open to everyone and close on January 20th,
One random winner will be announced on January 21st, 2012.

– remember I live in the future (Melbourne, Australia time) so my clock is probably a zillion hours ahead of yours if you’re pretty much anywhere else in the world (except maybe Sydney, Australia…).

Thank you so much to everyone who follows my blog. Your support and comments fill my love tank up to dangerous levels and I’m so grateful to this wonderful community for their constant inspiration and awesomeness.
Sewing is happiness J

P.s. – Check out this impulse purchase I recently made! A stunning vintage pattern that looks delicous! Look at those pleats that climb over the collar! This is about fourth on my list of upcoming projects. Haven't decided on a colour yet, but I'm open to suggestions!

  13. I really must make a trip to Melbourne and check out your fabric haunts! You find some gorgeous fabrics. And I am very much inspired to single-white-female you by making a replica of the gorgeous Peggy Olsen dress!

  14. That's one hell of a first giveaway (in both fabric and $ terms) and that pattern is delicious. What about making the wide collar band (over which the pleats climb) in a contrasting / different colour to the rest? Hard to see if that's possible without seeing the back...I am aware that's not a colour suggestion :-)

  32. Wow love it, count me in. Emerald green for the new dress. But that just might be because I'm dying to make a green dress. :D

    ReplyDelete
  33. Congratulations on 100 followers! I've loved everything you've posted so far. As for the color of that dress, you've done lots of black, white, navy, and red, and those colors really work for you. I'd do this dress in navy or in red, a matte fabric, so you can dress it up for a party or down for dinner out with your husband. If you want to move into other shades, you could try a rich, jewel-tone purple or a pink in pretty much any shade. :) I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it!

  34. Congratulations, Julia!!! I think your vintage dress will look beautiful in any color, but I vote for a Sienna color.
